Evelyn Nevins Sorensen Scholarship 2020

Bruce Dehnert. This is a presentation for a scholarship awarded each year to a Senior student at Fairview High School where our grandmother, Evelyn, was the valedictorian in 1926. My mother, Charlotte, and my four uncles [Len, Gil, Punk, and Dick] established the scholarship in her name. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this small Montana school's commencement is being held on-line.

Ergo

There’s a moment during which all things in the universe converge and meld. This churning can be clarity, it can be blur, or it can exist somewheres in between. But the odd thing about this is that walls have the potential to either hold, or hold back, or to make easier the idea of losing this universe through the fingers, like they might do parched sand on a windy day. There are gaps in the architecture of canyons like cleavages in our experiential brains. The nature of Architecture juxtaposed with the architecture of Nature. Corners are metres for where change arrives abruptly. These constructions are excavations, Germanic and prosodic.
